New Britain
Museum of American Art

The New Britain Museum of American Art's insightful, thought-provoking and always entertaining exhibitions and programming continue in the new Chase Family Building, which opened in early 2006. Overlooking scenic Walnut Hill Park, created by Frederick Law Olmsted, the 43,000-square-foot Chase Family Building was designed by award-winning Ann Beha Architects of Boston. Twelve new galleries showcase the Museum's collection of 5,000 works spanning three centuries of extraordinary American art. The NBMAA is the oldest museum in the country to concentrate on the collection of only American art.
